Sleeping in a bell tent with a private grove on the Berendries is ecologically lowfy responsible camping on one of the tops of the Flemish Ardennes. Do you want to get away alone, with two or with the children? Then you can go to this eco camping site of Stephen and Charlotte. Then sleep wonderfully in the furnished glamping tent with two or three people. Would you rather go out with more people? That is possible, feel free to set up a tent. Dogs are allowed. You can also cook on a gas fire, there is running water, a compost toilet, electricity via a power bank and fun games are available. Our glampintent is located on top of the Berendries in Brakel and was once part of a medieval highway between Oudenaarde and Ninove. Today this forms the connection between Michelbeke and Sint-Maria Oudenhove and is a real walking and cycling paradise. The climb is a popular slope in several cycling races, including the Ronde, the Omloop van het Nieuwsblad and the Driedaagse De Panne-Koksijde. So feel free to bring your walking shoes or cycling equipment!

FINE!
(Excellent in Dutch)

We stayed for two nights and had a great time away from our busy days at home.
The low-fi approach was very welcome especially because it was done with a lot of creativity.
Fresh tomatoes from the garden, a wonderful starry night and great landscape for walks topped it of.
We will be back!

How was the contact with the host?
Stephen welcomed us with open arm although we were a little late, he lives close by and reacts fast.
For real issues you can aleays rely on Stephen's father in law who lives just over the hill from the tent.

Tips for new guests?
Don't go shopping in the Delhaize close by, you will feel poor when you leave😁

What a lovely place. In the large backyard of Stephan's father's house is a beautiful tipi. The bed sleeps wonderfully and the tent is very cosily furnished. Next to the tent is a private grove with lots of shade, a large hammock and a beautiful natural shower.
We enjoyed Stephan's creative spirit which can be found everywhere. Simple but personal and effective solutions have been found for all conveniences; a buried cool box, a horn to amplify music, a cupboard full of games and toys and a beautiful self-built kitchen / sink. This made for a very nice and homely stay.

How was the contact with the host?
Stephan makes almost everything herself, is very helpful and does everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. He even offered to set up a cot when we indicated that we were coming with a baby. We received a warm welcome from the whole family on arrival.

Tips for new guests?
Coffee and tea are available and there is also cooking facilities. There is a supermarket within walking distance.

Very nicely furnished and spacious tent. Beautiful, relatively quiet area. Super nice grove with hammock and swing. Everything we needed in the outdoor kitchen. We had a relaxing five days with our three year old toddler. Really very nice!

How was the contact with the host?
Very good contact with the host. Always available. The father-in-law who lives next door to the property was also helpful and very pleasant. You will receive plenty of tips about the camping spot and the possibilities in the area!

Tips for new guests?
If you come by bike, take into account steep climbs and rather bicycle-unfriendly car traffic! However, there are many beautiful walking and cycling routes nearby. Be sure to go to cafe "the flying saucer"!
