Come and stargaze and enjoy the peace and the environment around you.
I have a free country house with vegetable garden and large surrounding garden with enough space for tents, caravans or camper vans. You can lie in the grass, sit under a tree, hammock, or take the bike and cycle to the mudflats. When you come back after a day of enjoying the area, you can pick vegetables from the garden or sit on the square or by the fireplace or fire pit with a book / guitar, etc. Take a nice hot shower in our private bathroom .
Our guests' favourite: our outdoor toilet with a view of the fields.
The area is agricultural and has many hiking trails. For example, you can walk in the evening in the 'Dark Sky Park'. As soon as it is dark, a world opens up for you. This is because there is hardly any light pollution in this sparsely populated area. You see the Milky Way, Orion and many other stars. It is so bright, it looks like a 3D starry sky.
We have a beautiful wooden house, surrounded by a very green garden. But don't expect neatly raked paths, jeux de boules / mini golf / playground / toilet blocks smelling of chlorine, I am not a campsite, simply a nice place to camp. Together we make something beautiful.
Arrive conveniently before dark.
Campfire possible. Please bring your own wood or collect it in a bush around the corner.

Wonderful location, nice and quiet and nice and basic.
You have your own corner in Frits' garden where you can perfectly pitch your tent.

What a nice experience! Our tent was between the plum tree and the blackberries. Every evening a beautiful starry sky at the campfire. We would like to come back again.

Lovely, relaxed overnight stay in the back yard of Frits' house. Tents can stay in the orchard, I think. There is a small factory further up the road, but you don't really notice it. The work shop doubled up as a very useful indoor hang out space where we cooked our dinner. Little bathroom with toilet, sink and decent hot shower, warm and cosy. We made a lovely campfire in the fire basket, overlooking the beautiful, wide open country side. In the middle of the night the clouds cleared for an incredibly starry night.
How was the contact with the host?
Excellent contact. We arrived a bit later than we had intended and Ms Google had taken us to the wrong address. By phone Frits guided us to his place and when we got there, give us an audio tour by phone, to make sure we knew where everything was.
Tips for new guests?
2 euros for a shower is expensive, but worth it! Have a campfire and stay up to watch the stars!

Nice place with fruit trees to enjoy. Delightful, peaceful setting with charismatic host.
The Wadden are within cycling distance and bicycles can be borrowed.
Sanitary is basic but fine. There is also an outdoor toilet with a view over the fields. The effort!
There is also an opportunity to make coffee and tea or to cook.
The place for the campervan is located between some fruit trees and a wooded bank, so not really a view over the fields that you do have when you are with a tent. Some nice spots for tents!
But the beautiful garden more than makes up for that lack of view.
Definitely go here again when I'm in Groningen again.
How was the contact with the host?
Pleasant reception, where Frits also helped with parking backwards so that the van did not accidentally hit the branches of the trees.
Immediately gave a small tour of the beautiful garden.
Furthermore, he leaves you in your own bubble and is available if you have any questions.
Tips for new guests?
Don't cook for once.., there is a good Chinese restaurant in the village ;)

If you get to the camping early pitch at the front of the campsite, the view across the field is amazing. There is electricity / a nice hot shower / basic amenaties available (kettle, cooking stoves, cutlery). Allocated pitch places are all private with bushes around every pitch site giving you wonderful privacy. The host is really nice, relaxed and really helpful.

Pieterburn seal center is less than 7km away, plan your visit by calling in advance to see what time they feed the seals. Warffum is 2.5km with a great Spa supermarket. We ate uit in Uithuizen (J.P restaurant) great food and staff. Groningen is a 20 min drive and is a beautiful city to visit. The peace and quite was appreciatied 100%. Back to nature, and that's it. On arrival we were immediately welcomed by Frits' two cats, one of which felt at home with us. Set up a tent and enjoy the tranquility and the environment around you, woodpeckers, rabbits, cats, sheep, ducks, many birds and butterflies and even deer could be admired from a distance. Relax under the starry sky. Lots of peace and privacy. Nice on the eco toilet looking at the nature around you. The next time we are in Groningen we will definitely come back.

Had a very pleasant time in Frits' garden. We shared this campspace with 2 other couples but everyone had more than enough privacy and space. As stated, don't expect a Hilton but a real camping experience. All basic necessities are available (shed for cooking and shelter from rain, fire pits, sanitary facilities, trash cans, ...). We were fans!

In my opinion an ideal host. No small talk, but check in every day to make sure everything is to your liking.

On arrival Frits was not present, but he welcomed us by telephone. We spent 6 days at the Eco campspace with 4 people. Our goal was mainly to make a lot of music, after a year and a half of Corona playing together again.

The area is also beautiful, we have made beautiful bike rides.

Frits also has a nice campfire place with a lovely couch.

Had a fantastic weekend in Warffum! We were a group of friends of 8 people and we had plenty of space for our tents under the trees. The sanitary facilities are minimal, but that was okay. Although we come from the city of Groningen ourselves and the camping spot was very close, the place immediately gave us a holiday feeling. Beautiful surroundings, light a nice fire and hang out in the garden. There isn't much, but that's what makes this place special!

Good communication and nice host. Nice place in an area where you can cycle well (for example to Winsum or the North Cape). Frits lives beautifully with a beautiful green garden. You can use all facilities, including an eco toilet (great!). Nice fire in the evening. We were with a caravan and had a spot next to the vegetable garden. Fine, but a bit narrow and a view of the Aviko factory. If you come with a tent, you have a choice of nicer spots. Unfortunately not really clear skies so we save the stargazing until next time. Thank you for the hospitality, we definitely recommend this place! Tip: Bike along and explore the area. Via Winsum with the ferry from Schaphhalsterzijl to Aduarderzijl. And in Garnwerd the terrace.

After a 2 hour drive from Amsterdam we arrived right at the sunset and were welcomed by a peaceful quiet landscape in the middle of Groningen. Frits wasn't there but after a quick phone call he told us where to set up our tent, which is a beautiful private spot near a little pond and overlooking the wide fields. We could use the private bathroom and the kitchen for cooking. In the area there is lots to explore varying from nature to little sleepy towns. The garden right next to our tent is comfy for hammock and bbq nights. Frits is friendly and relaxed, but mostly super hospitable. If you are looking for a place to unwind with privacy, this is the spot to go!

We loved our first Campspace experience! Beautiful garden (orchard!), many different places where you can set up your tent. Despite the fact that it is someone's backyard, you feel like you are in the wilderness. There were other campers as well, but we still had a lot of privacy. I thought it was a really nice environment to discover, for me it was unknown Netherlands, because when I go this way, I usually travel to the Wadden, so the Wadden Sea on this side was a discovery! Highly recommended!

After a long day at work, my welcome at this campsite couldn't have been better. The host, Frits, was sitting in the sun in front of his cute house. He was kept company by his two cuddly cats and surrounded by the greens of his garden. I got served a nice cup of tea and he showed me around the house and the garden / camp site. In the fruit garden there are several spots under the trees, as well as a place for making a campfire and a hammock. Further in the back, there are some more secluded spots with views over the surrounding fields. In the house, there is a shared kitchen, living room, meditation room bathroom and toilet. For the more adventurous campers there is a toilet in the garden from which you have a view over the farmers field. Frits relaxed attitude made me feel very welcome to use whatever space in the house and garden, which felt really nice. In the evening I took a walk through a tiny forest and sheep fields that are easily accessible from the garden. Id hear nothing but birds singing and lambs calling their moms. To the same sounds, I woke up the next morning, while I saw the sun rise over the fields. I enjoyed my one-night stay very much and I cant wait to go back and explore all the nice surroundings this place has to offer (the coast, Noordpolderzeil, the open-air museum, etc.).

This was really my favourite camping spot! Frits has a beautiful garden where you can really relax. There were hammocks hanging from the trees where you could sit comfortably and in the front of the house you have the sun until late. Also, the toilet outside is a nice addition and of course super handy. Some other travellers invited me to sit by the campfire in the evening. That made the experience complete! The next day I walked around the meadows and walked a route to a beautiful deserted lake. I was only here for 1 night but Ill definitely be back to stay longer!

My first Campspace motorcycle adventure. Stayed one night in Fritz backyard. He was not there when I arrived so I received a friendly audio intake. Besides a caravan in front of the house, there was nobody there so I could pick my spot. Chose a secluded space at the edge of the garden, watching over a field. Put up my tent, and made myself a cup of coffee while listening to the birds and the frogs, and every now and then, one of the cats came by to see everything was still okay. At dinner time, Frits came to say hi, we chatted a bit and then he left again. Then I took a nap and around midnight I woke up and just sat outside in the dark with the milky way above me, the wind around me and the sounds of frogs nearby, and I slowly became utter stillness. Really a wonderful experience just sitting there being an empty vessel. Then in the morning, I did my kriya's. I planned to do them in the meditation space which is available, but the temperature was nice so I just did them outside. Then I took a shower, packed my tent. Had a final chat with Frits in the garden and then I left. All in all, I got what I wanted, a quiet place to just sit outside with nature around me and a friendly host who leaves you be.

The two of us visited Frits' Campspace location for a few nights. Especially the fact that the sky can get really dark here caught our attention. The Lauwersmeer National Park is a 20-minute drive away and the De Alde Feanen National Park is a 1-hour drive away. Both areas are great for walking, but be aware that it can be quite wet and boggy. Frits' orchard is wonderful to pitch your tent and is out of sight of the house. In other words, you have more than enough privacy with a fantastic view over the fields.
How was the contact with the host?
Frits is easily accessible and responds quickly
Tips for new guests?
Keep in mind that you don't have many alternative options in wet weather. In the neighborhood it is especially very quiet. And although there are sanitary facilities, it is advisable to bring slippers and your own (shower) stuff because the room does not look very clean.

Beautiful area with very picturesque villages, the house of Frits is really pretty as well. Frits is a great host and lighted the fire pit for us at night. This was the first time with Campspace, it went well! On arrival, the host was not there, but we are used to camping so he showed us around by phone. We looked for a spot. It is not a real campsite, but a farm with some leftover fields. Also, not everything was in order, but good enough for a few days. That was a bit unfortunate, but otherwise, the place was good. No hot water tap in the bathroom or anything where you can easily wash your dishes. That is also for hygiene reasons because of Corona. We stayed for five nights; it was very busy. There were two families camping there, a camper, and another tent, and some people in the house. That was actually too much in my opinion.

It was our first Campspace experience. We find it a very nice concept. Frits has a nice place, where you can nicely stay in your tent. So the camping experience was as expected. It is a bit tricky that there is no sink or something like it, that would make it even better.

Fritz’s camping/garden is very beautiful but very basic. Do not expect luxury: there is hot water in the shower and the possibility to use electricity in the shed. Toilet is primitive “green” with sawdust and a view over the field; in other words “loo with a view”. Contact with Fritz is fine! You can enjoy a campfire in the evening. We used the campsite as a base to Schiermonnikoog which was very doable.

The location is very beautiful, green and private. We were lucky to be the only campers, so we had the whole garden to ourselves. Frits was not present in the house during our stay, but he gave us all the information we needed over the phone. Very relaxed to be able to communicate this way and to coordinate everything in good faith. The garden is a wonderful place to relax and simply watch all the life that flows, flies, and crawls. The only downside is the factory a few hundred yards away. When the wind blows from the west, you can hear the factory noise, especially at night, this can disturb the peace a bit. There is also plenty to do and find in the nearby area. You will find a supermarket in Warffum, the boat to Schiermonnikoog is nearby, and you can eat delicious fresh fish in the harbour of Lauwersoog. This place was our first experience with Campspace and definitely tastes like more!

Stood from Friday to Sunday. Nice location, but there are points of improvement. The laundry room has a shower and toilet. The loft is not finished, electrically in the loft a piece of string is made together. You look at the insulation material in the roof. When you sit on the toilet, you have a central heating boiler on your neck. In addition, there is no form of privacy as there are 2 windows in the door. Sure, if you camp in someone's garden, you can't expect a large camping toilet, but a "ready" shower/washing area seems to me to be expected.
Camping pitches are on a slope, but here you have a lot of privacy. The house is not visible. We have stood here with a tent, campfire at the site possible, the places are not accessible by car. If you come here with a campervan, for example, then you have to stand in the fruit court. Power can be connected in the workshop, so bring an adequate extension cord. We ended up needing 30 meters.
All in all had a nice weekend, with some challenges.
How was the contact with the host?
Contact with the host was good. He gives you a lot of freedom, but you have to because he was away a lot. Frits is a cheerful man, and also came to have a look on Saturday.

This could be a nice place, but then the owner has to work to get the basics in order. Little work, we would arrange it in our garden if friends came to visit for a weekend. For a paid place we don't think this is value for the money you pay for it. In its current condition it is fine as a free spot for a casual passer-by.
We were especially surprised by the place for our small camper and the washing facilities. You can make something beautiful out of it and that is not difficult at all. Just work for a few days and it's done.
The camper place: two narrow strips of broken roof tiles where the smallest bus camper with its tires just fits. On the one hand, if you're not careful, you'll stumble in a ditch, on the other, a slam muddy strip along a vegetable garden. Make it a bit more spacious, make sure you can get out properly and not just step into the mud from your camper.
The washing facilities: the pieces of rock wool hang over your head, the electricity is shabby with some makeshift screws. A matter of a day or two of jobs and it's in order.

my experience in Warffum was moderate / bad, little empathy from the owner and the facilities were also very poor, unfinished toilet / shower and we knew it was a very simple campsite with an outside toilet fine, we had the campsite on the TV program “travelling” given our rating is a 5 on the scale of 10 .

The location is certainly beautiful!
As far as we're concerned, that's about it a bit...
The sanitary facilities are far below standard, and have certainly never been cleaned in recent weeks (and also during our stay).
Ordinary camping prices for accommodation of this standard: that is really not possible!
How was the contact with the host?
Distant, impersonal, actually no contact.
