Welcome to the Greatest Transfrontier Biosphere Reserve in Europe - Meseta Ibérica. Here you will find the fusion of glamour, ecological accommodation, innovative and inserted in Nature Tourism.
GLAMPING is a concept and experience with all the charm offered in a comfortable hut of 18 m2, with details as important as air conditioning, 50L cylinder for hot water and private bathroom.
In Santa Comba de Rossas, Bragança county, we can still find ancestral uses and customs, beauty, hospitality and safety, but there is also GLAMPING HILLS that will provide you an experience in full communion with nature, as the concept itself indicates, but inserted in the village housing nucleus, right next to the church, where the resident population has embraced the idea with great affection and has become a "customer" of the late "Tavern of Manuel António", as the commercial space of the grandparents of the promoters of GLAMPING HILLS was known, which besides the tavern had a grocery store and even the public post of CTT.
It is an almost mythical place, which brings to mind the time when the train still ran from Oporto to Bragança and through which goods arrived in the village. The space, now renovated, also tells this story through its decoration: the old counter has been recreated, as well as the support cabinets and even the old brass suitcases, all of them designed and very colourful, where the linen, blankets and many other household adornments that were impossible to buy in the region used to arrive.
At GLAMPING HILLS there are six huts, a tavern with restaurant service by appointment and a support pool for hot summer days, in addition to grandmother Lalãna's brass suitcases, the taste for welcoming and the flowers that stubbornly grow in every nook and cranny.
Here we can relax on the terrace of the tavern and observe the four mountains that surround us, allowing a unique harmony with nature.
For those who want to, there are several fruit trees, totally organic, which we can pick freely whenever we want, and in the Autumn picking chestnuts is a possibility, of course, the fireplace of the GLAMPING HILLS tavern invites you to a "magusto", always accompanied by a good wine from the region.
Since its inception, GLAMPING HILLS has been associated with the concept of "Land'Art", exhibiting works of art by the artist Miguel Moreira e Silva. Initially, the space was decorated with MASKS, an identity element of this territory. In a huge walnut tree "is born" a nest of large dimensions, which gives us a sense of comfort, allowing the observation of stars and triggering emotions associated with peace, tranquillity, beauty, perfection and love. In the earth grows the COGUMELO, an element present in the transmontana gastronomy and now also transformed into art.
Here we are instigated to have the courage to stop in time, so that we can genuinely enjoy the small moments that are, in fact, the necessary condiment for a fuller and happier life.
GLAMPING HILLS has assumed its commitment with Sustainability, through the international references Biosphere Responsible Tourism. Thank you for being part of the Biosphere Community!
