In the middle of fields and forests you can camp here away from light and noise. Our domain is just under five hectares, so there is plenty of space!
The place is also highly sought after by local wildlife such as roe deer, hares and squirrels. Bird lovers will certainly get their money's worth here!
The former pig farm was built in 1953. Between 1985 and 2005 a strawberry farm was established by my parents. After that, the meadows lay unused and nature was given free rein. Because of the latter, it is recommended not to walk around barefoot as small thistles and nettles can grow among the grass.
The village is 500 meters away and you will find a bakery, butcher shop, Café Eendracht at Jeoffrey and a little further in the Dorpstraat a chip shop and day shop (night shop but then during the day). If you walk a little further you will find the restaurant Den Eirekluts in a side street on the right.
The nearest train stations are Serskamp, Schellebelle and Wetteren, those who take the bus can take bus 58 at Wetteren station to the stop Serskamp Kerk.

The photos describing the place were taken as recently as possible (latest on September 16, '21).

Campers can take a seat where they can turn by car, this gives a beautiful view of nature from the camper. It is not possible to stand on the meadows in winter and early spring, they are too swampy.

At the moment we are also working on a renovation project on site (including to provide our visitors with extra facilities), unfortunately we cannot offer sanitary facilities. For that reason we have temporarily lowered the price. There is still water (to fill up for water bottles and jerry cans) and electricity, but unfortunately I can't offer a toilet, shower and sink for the time being.

Do you need a cable reel? Then I provide it. Unfortunately, this is not possible for those who want to be more than 50 meters from the last socket, unless you have an extra extension cord with you.

For walks in the vicinity I have laminated walking maps that you can borrow and leave on the table near the sockets when you check out.

PS: this Campspace was previously called "The valley near the Eetgoed".

Second time in one month that I come to camp here because it is such a blissful place. In the village of Serskamp you have everything at hand (bakery, resto, cafe, ...). You can enjoy a nice walk along the tree nurseries. From Schellebels, the walking possibilities are endless.

I loved staying at this place. It was like wild camping with the luxury of a toilet and access to water and electricity. The meadows are beautiful and full of wildlife (deer, buzzards, owls, frogs, crickets, heron...). I felt like waking up in a nature reserve. Basic, as described, but beautiful and calm.

How was the contact with the host?
Very good communication and a warm welcome. I hope to be able to come again.

Too bad... a little hospitality would have been welcome. Cycling for a day in the pouring rain and then a cold shower is not ok. Certainly not because this place is in a price range where you expect a hot shower, and this is also communicated on the site. There was also nothing provided for waste. I barely had anything with me and took it with me .. maybe that's how it should be, but you have to get rid of it somewhere. All ballast on a fully packed bike...
To end on a positive note...it's a nice place. A bit swampy and bumpy but as a camper it works.

How was the contact with the host?
Cool... maybe also because of the nice weather...

Tips for new guests?
I don't know, I won't be staying there anymore.

Dear, I'm sorry you feel that way. The things you don't like are all mentioned in advance in the ad so I don't think the cold shower came as a surprise, as well as the waste policy is clearly stated in the ad. Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee good weather. And if it's any consolation, we're going to renovate our warehouse so we can provide our guests with a warm shower later 😉
Greetings

Everything is there as stated on the website, but don't expect luxury. Enjoy the nature and the view.

Thank you for your review! The flower meadow is a positive result of the much rain, but we are also busy creating the highest possible botanical diversity ;)

We received a very warm welcome from Stan and were given a nice place under large trees with the necessary shade and a beautiful view of his area. In the evening and early in the morning we even saw some wild deer walking! Stan has a very large plot of land, but only allows 3 tents at a time, which means that you have a lot of peace and space. On arrival he offered us electricity and all the necessities for a campfire. We also got some hiking maps with routes nearby. Only downside is that the sanitary facilities were not exactly clean.

Our caravan was placed in one of Stan’s three pastures. Shade is rather scarce, but we were a big fan of this camping spot. The view over the meadows and trees, the friendly welcome and the facilities (possibility of cooling food, drinking water, electricity) were perfectly fine! We remember this place!

Rules

No noise between 10pm and 6am

Please do not leave any rubbish behind (unless you choose the cleaning option): at the beginning of the street (opposite the school in the village) there are glass containers where you can deposit glass bottles. At your request I can also give you PMD bags if I have them available. Follow the guidelines of "the new blue bag" regarding what is (not) allowed in. Residual waste bags that you can leave here can be ordered in the booking.

Cars can park on the designated paved places next to the meadow.

If you want to make a fire, you can use the old washing drum as a fire basket. At the moment the dry wood has run out, you can take wood with you or gather wood in the bushes in den hof (note: nettles!). The logs that are stacked are not available, that is for the winter in the stove.

If you used a cable reel from here, it would be nice to roll it up on departure.

I love your dog but not his sty ;)

The immediate vicinity of the house is permanently monitored by registered cameras.

We are not responsible for any accidents.
