Our wild, eco-friendly campsite is located in the Apennine hills, in an ancient chestnut tree forest far away from roads and cars. Services include fully equipped kitchen, camp fire, bathrooms with hot showers, outdoor showers, sauna, meditation platform, chill out room and much more. Wild camping Paladini is ideal for hikers, walkers, nature-lovers, artists, wood-carvers, musicians, land-artists, wild-swimmers, natural-food lovers and anyone who just wants to relax in a completely natural surrounding where wild boar, deer, foxes and even wolves can be seen occasionally. A short stroll (1.7 km) will bring you to the medieval bridge at Castiglione where you can swim in the cool river water or just chill in the breeze of the waterfall. Hi there! I am Irish, musician, hiker & camping enthusiast, and have a great love of this land where I have been living for the past twenty years. The forest, rivers, wildlife and nature bring out the best in me and in anyone who visits, and my team and I are looking forward to sharing this gorgeous unspoiled part of Tuscany with you soon. Come and get to know us and other guests at our regular evening campfires where a song or two are never far away, or try one of our chestnut flour pancakes (necci) in our communal kitchen.
Try the gorgeous walk along a medieval trail to the ancient bridge and waterfall for a swim
Just chill and enjoy the nature well away from the road
There is a basic shop at the pizzeria in Chiozza (1.5km), you can shop in Castiglione (3 km by foot), and a mobile supermarket comes to near the camp every Tuesday morning.
Highly recommended pizzeria in Chiozza (1.5km), Il Pozzo in Pieve Fosciana (8km), Locanda Belvedere in Sillico (16km in car or 8km on foot)
Bar in Chiozza

I stayed at Paladini for almost a week. The atmosphere at Paladini is relaxed and familiar. It is a lovely stay for everyone who loves to stay in a small 'community camping' with (some) interaction. In the morning there are pancakes. In the evening a delicious meal. The pizzeria in Chiozza is a 15 minutes walk away. Castiglione takes around 30 minutes through a beautiful path via the river. The campsite is located in the middle of nature.
I would recommend this camp-space to people who can appreciate a eco-friendly and primitive stay. I had a great time :)

This place is amazing. Great people, cute animals and the right place to connect with nature.
How was the contact with the host?
The host is super friendly and communication worked all fine.
Tips for new guests?
The path is not easy to be found and the roads are partly a little steep and rocky. But there are also nice locals who like to help out finding the right way.

Wild Camping Paladini is 300 metres down a medieval forest trail from the closest parking space. We encourage campers to walk from either Castiglione (2.5 km) or Chiozza (1.5 km) as there is limited parking directly above the camp.
There is a communal campfire lit most evenings all guests welcome.
Pets are more than welcome as long as they respect other guests and the wildlife around Paladini. We have chickens, donkeys and a loveable dog, Rocco.
