A beautiful and very quiet place. Silence comes to you when you drive into this meadow.

How was the contact with the host?
We only spoke to them when we had a power outage, which was fine otherwise.

Tips for new guests?
Bring your bike and walking shoes! A beautiful area for cycling (in Germany to Meppen for example) and walking in the Bargerveen.

Beautiful spacious place with a wide view of a horse meadow.
On the other side of the house you can walk straight into the Bargerveen nature reserve with many cycling and walking routes.
From the garden you walk into the covered area where there are benches, Senseo, kettle. The space is attractively lit. There are also books, route maps, etc. Here you will also find the bathroom with hot shower, toilet and a sauna that is very easy to use and definitely worth it!!
In the garden is a large run with rabbits, chinchillas, squirrels, etc.
I had a wonderful stay and felt very welcome

How was the contact with the host?
Very friendly and helpful. Always up for a chat, but when you want to be on your own, you also get your privacy.

We arrived in the afternoon and were kindly expected. Cats, rabbits and horses in the neighbor's garden welcomed us.

How was the contact with the host?
Uncomplicated quick feedback, great reception and tries to show everything that is there.

Tips for new guests?
We were there on a Ford Nugget bus. Entrance to the garden a bit narrow but doable. Sauna for two on site. Barn equipped with table and chairs. Campfire in tin tub possible. Horse paddock borders directly on the garden.

This lovely campspace spot is located on the border of Drenthe and Germany, in the middle of the Bargerveen. We had an unobstructed view from our place at the back of the garden. At the front of the house you can walk straight into the peat area. The dog was allowed to run loose on the property, which is always a plus for us.

The hosts are very friendly and helpful, there is a real bathroom (with a lovely shower, sitting sauna), and a living room including coffee, tea and a fridge if needed.

The Bargerveen is beautiful, the silence deafening and the grass..... We have never experienced it as velvety soft as here!!

Five stars are not enough to qualify this camping spot.
This is by far the most luxurious and comfortable camping spot we have visited.
With a covered interior space including sofas, a dining table, cozy lighting, a refrigerator and a stove. With extensive sanitary facilities with toilet, a luxurious shower and, last but not least,
flare an -included- sauna!
Located on the border of the beautiful high moor area (unique for western Europe) Bargerveen.
The silence is almost audible at this camping spot, and the darkness unpolluted by scattered light. You imagine yourself not only on the edge of the Netherlands, but at the end of civilization.
When you walk outside from the sauna in the evening to cool off, you experience our insignificance at the sight of the countless number of stars of the Milky Way.
As far as I'm concerned, this camping spot deserves Seven out of five (review) stars.

How was the contact with the host?
The contact was very cordial and hospitable.
After an extensive tour of all the extensive and luxurious facilities, we were urged to indicate if we still needed anything...
We were left neatly alone and felt wonderfully free.

Tips for new guests?
An extensive walk through Bargerveen is highly recommended. A unique nature reserve in which you can still beautifully observe the peat process.
A visit to the Veenmuseum is also highly recommended. Very informative and beautifully set up with a demonstration of peat cutting and a beautiful open-air museum with a complete village, from turf hut to stone house, bakery, forge, grocery baker, etc. give an impressive picture of the environment of our ancestors in the peat area.
Keep in mind the abundant mosquitoes present in this moisture-rich peat area,

We had a nice long weekend in the Bargerveen near Weiteveen. We had a beautiful field at our disposal and a recreation room, shower, toilet and small sauna (2p seated). There is a kettle and electricity. View of peat and horses. We were the only guests, so that was very nice. We were even allowed to use the bicycles, which is a must because the peat is very extensive. It is nice to cycle somewhere and walk from there.

How was the contact with the host?
Very good, very friendly, helpful, available for questions and you don't notice each other.

Tips for new guests?
Until October 2021 there is also an art exhibition in the peat; into nature. Recommended.

We really enjoyed it! What a beautiful place, what a peace, what a beautiful view! We found the beautiful trees on the property a huge addition. This way you could always look for a place of sun and shade. That is possible there anyway because they also have seating both outside and inside. It is very special that you cross the road and are immediately in the Bargerveen nature reserve. So you can start walking and cycling right away! Our car has stood still for the entire stay because you can do everything on foot and by bike. Everything is neatly cared for. Even use of mini fridge, coffee and tea was ready and what we did not expect is that we even used the sauna. At first we thought it was too hot and we were too lazy. But in the evening fifteen minutes in, take a nice shower and then go to bed. Such a luxury!!! We will definitely come back! We still have things on our list that we want to do in the area. the people in the area are also very friendly and helpful.

How was the contact with the host?
Contact with the host, both Anita and Geert-Jan was very pleasant! They are very helpful, think along and are easily accessible. They give you all the privacy so that you get the feeling that you are camping in the wild ;-).

Tips for new guests?
Restaurant Wollegras is a must! Delicious food, beautiful place, very friendly staff and certainly on the bike you are so. Bargerveen nature reserve; don't keep walking too much on the bike path, but as soon as you see the brown arrow, this will follow. Much more fun walking and you will soon pick up the walking routes.

This campspace was absolutely great. We were kindly received by Anita, who showed us where to find a place for the tent.
We had a private bathroom with toilet, shower and sauna at our disposal and a sitting area. Here we could also hang our wet stuff to dry. Due to the cold weather, it was wonderful to warm up in the sauna before going to sleep.
The silence at night was striking. Nowhere to hear a car, wonderful!

Definitely a place to remember!

It was a pleasant place to stay. The sheep and horses walked in the meadow next to it.
On the property itself were: chickens, rabbits, squirrels, chinchillas and birds. Very nice for children. The weather was very rainy, but we were able to stay in a shed with chairs and table, where we could use the kettle.
The shower with toilet and sauna were fantastic.
The house was opposite the national peat park with junctions for cyclists and walkers.

How was the contact with the host?
Anita was very relaxed and welcoming and cleaned the shed and shower every day.
Fantastic host.

Tips for new guests?
Nice area to cycle through.
