Experience an Unforgettable Camping Getaway Surrounded by Cowbells and Nature at La Jaurie

If you're seeking a camping getaway surrounded by the soothing sound of cowbells and a strong eco-conscience ethos, look no further than La Jaurie. Nestled within eight and a half acres of picturesque beauty, this small farm campsite, owned and operated by Marcel and Madelinde, offers a unique experience centered around nature, delicious home-grown cuisine, and an eco-conscious lifestyle. Situated on a hill with enchanting woodlands and a meandering river, La Jaurie boasts charming old buildings, barns, and a camping field bordered by beehives and a walnut tree orchard. Free-roaming chickens, friendly dogs named Woef and Milo, and resident cats Pasta, Pietje, and Rhino add to the rustic charm. Don't forget to meet the welcoming donkey and bring along some carrots for a special treat!

La Jaurie offers spacious camping pitches that cater to all preferences. Choose from spots by the vegetable patch, orchard, or alongside the stream. The waterside pitches are perfect for cozy campfires, allowing you to enjoy the serene atmosphere. While the camping experience is simple and carefree, the site provides all the necessary facilities for a comfortable stay, including a solar-powered cooker and a salt-water swimming pool.

Mealtimes at La Jaurie are a social affair, with guests invited to join Marcel and Madelinde for evening dinners. Indulge in a delectable five-course family-friendly feast every Friday, prepared using the farm's own abundance of delicious produce. On Tuesdays, the communal dining table showcases scrumptious pizza pies cooked in the restored traditional bread oven.

Activities abound at La Jaurie, providing endless entertainment for all ages. Engage in crafts for kids, painting sessions, and invigorating yoga sessions amidst the beautiful surroundings. There's even an opportunity to pan for gold, adding a touch of adventure to your camping experience. For those seeking a more immersive experience, join in the renovation of the old farm buildings using traditional methods and materials, embracing the rich heritage of the site. Nature enthusiasts can explore the captivating Limousin landscape through numerous hiking trails, while cycling enthusiasts can ride along the voie verte track, tracing the path of the old railway line.

History buffs will appreciate the region's connection to The Crusades, as it was the countryside where Richard the Lionheart met his fate with an arrow through the arm near Châlus. The area also boasts magnificent 12th-century architecture, serving as a testament to its rich historical past. Explore the unspoiled villages with their quintessential Gallic charm. While the historic town of Limoges is just 35km away, we guarantee you'll find it challenging to leave the tranquil surroundings of this gorgeously idyllic campsite.
