Your pitch is located in the middle of the Steigerwald Nature Park on a hill with a beautiful view of the surrounding forests and the valley with the small town of Untersteinbach.
The meadow at the edge of the forest is very large and everyone will find a nice place to linger. From a romantically located small chapel, you can watch the sunset and let your gaze wander over the valley. A sheepfold on the property is hidden in a former quarry. It is a pleasure to watch the animals in the pasture during the day. Her bleating and the chirping of the birds in the forest put everyone at ease.
The small stream, the "Rauhe Ebrach", runs in the valley. In summer, the clear water offers a nice cooling.
A footpath under fruit trees leads to the village, where small grocery stores offer everything needed for daily life. You can also find camping accessories at a mobile home dealer, as well as a gas station and a doctor's office.
Almost every small village in the area has an inn, also with its own brewery.
The cycle path borders the 12-hectare area. Here you will find many signposted tours in the area. Not far away, in sight, are the oldest beeches in the Steigerwald.
The highest elevation in the northern Steigerwald, the Zabelstein, can be reached in 12 km via a forest path. The whole way only forest! There is a wooden tower here, from where you have a magnificent view over the Main valley.
In the opposite direction, after 8 km, you will reach Ebrach with the former Cistercian monastery. There is an outdoor pool on the outskirts.
If you are interested in culture and would like to go on a city tour, you can reach Bamberg in 30 km and Würzburg in 50 km.
For many years, nature conservation organizations have been trying to protect the unique mixed beech forests of the Steigerwald and the biodiversity they contain with a national park. So far, the Bavarian state government has refused to designate such a necessary protected area.

Wow, what a beautiful place, so on the mountain on the edge of the village and the all-round view of the valleys and the forests. Manfred really has something unique here. We had a wonderful week and what we especially remember is the peace and space between the sheep. If it wasn't so far to drive from NL, we would definitely come back. Who knows in the future we will probably visit the beautiful Steigerwald again
How was the contact with the host?
Manfred is a lovely host and proudly shows his studio. Very inspiring to see his sculptures and how they are created.
Furthermore, nothing is too much for him and he is happy to talk to you.
Tips for new guests?
In this beautiful place it is really wild camping, so there are no sanitary or other facilities. You can stock water down at Manfred,

Great space. Quiet. Fun with the sheep around.
How was the contact with the host?
Manfred is friendly and helpful. I called him on our arrival as we had not agreed on a specific time for the check in. This went smoothly.
Tips for new guests?
Beware of the ants. There were many ants in August so it is good to know a few tricks to keep them as away as possible.

Manfred has something really unique to offer here. A few 100 meters behind his house in the village is a huge property from which you have an enchanting view and you can completely relax. You stand there with your camper or van in the middle of nature between forest and meadows. At night you can watch the stars here wonderfully.
How was the contact with the host?
Manfred gave us a warm welcome and showed us the meadow. He has his workshop in the village and also a gallery, which is definitely worth a look.
Tips for new guests?
You have to be aware that there is no plumbing or electricity up there.

Beautiful place, really all alone and endless space.
How was the contact with the host?
Host forgot we were coming but within 5 minutes everything was arranged.
Tips for new guests?
Because it is in a meadow it has no house number. The owner also has a B&B if you put your navigation there you will end up with him!

it was a great experience. You have to be clear that it is "only" a meadow, without water, sanitary facilities, electricity etc. Due to the meadow and moss, the ground is pleasantly soft for camping and even if the place is on a hill you can easily find a flat surface to pitch your tent.
But if you are prepared for any eventuality, it is a very idyllic piece of earth, where you can have your peace, do not disturb anyone and are not disturbed by anyone.
You have a great view, you are in the middle of nature and directly in the forest behind is a hiking / forest path as a starting point for appropriate tours.
I would definitely go back.
