Rules

Campsites are ideal places to stay with pets, but it is important to know the rules of coexistence and to respect them. Some of the most basic ones are:

always keep your pet on a leash and, if necessary, he should wear a muzzle. Bear in mind that some people are afraid of animals. Make sure that they do their excrements outside the campsite, and always pick the5trm up.
brush them outside the campsite and collect the hairs in a bag. Hair flies easily.
keep them only in the permitted areas.
If your dog does not feel safe when alone, try not to leave HIM alone. Most of them will probably engage in undesirable behaviour such as barking, scratching or breaking something nearby.

Great campsite, beautiful view of the mountains. Showers very good. Book in advance, because it is quite busy during the summer holidays. Beautiful hiking trails, short and long. Nice restaurant and terrace to sit during the day. Small shop with stuff and groceries is handy. The Picos white beers are delicious. Baguette can be ordered for the next morning, nice and fresh (really better than in France :-))

How was the contact with the host?
Good. Advance communication via the Campspace site. Good explanation on the spot.

Tips for new guests?
Bring a warm sweater, it cools down best in the evening.
In the meadow nearby (towards the village of Sta Marina: see photos) you can perfectly enjoy the sunset. Dress and something to drink.

Very nice and clean campsite, run by a sympathetic and friendly team.
Good restaurant on site, with good food, good wines and beers, and even a home-brewed beer.
And yes, the location is just beautiful, and also a perfect base for walks.
If it wasn't so far, I'd be going back soon :-)

Scout Audrey About the scout program

Tell us about your experience
Arriving by the small, narrow and bumpy road, it was not easy to reach the campsite. For several kilometers we sink into the forest with sometimes big holes, big drops and big branches. With our old motorhome which is not suitable for this type of road, we were a little afraid of not getting there. But in the end, everything went well.
And fortunately because the place is really beautiful! Surrounded by a forest and a river, this campsite is a paradise for nature lovers. There is an incredible view of the Picos de Europa and it is a very good start for hikes.
On site, the spaces are mostly planted with trees to create shade. Moreover, as the campsite is housed in the hollow of a valley, the sun disappears early to give way to a gentle coolness. It is ideal during the hot summer days.
On site there is an all day restaurant and bar where they brew their own beer. They offer dishes at really good prices! Besides, there is WI-FI which helped us out a lot in the evening.
We also really liked the clean and spacious sanitary facilities with electrical outlets. There are three washing machines on site which cost only €2 and a place to empty the campervan chemical toilets.
We also visited their shop and left with a few odds and ends. This store also offers fresh bread and other products for quick shopping when needed.
We have two cats and the team positioned us on ideal terrain away from families with dogs and traffic. It was really perfect to let them go out in complete serenity.
Some of the things we also found great, but couldn't test:
- entertainment (while we were there there was yoga in the morning and nature excursions),
- biking
- a playground for children, but also table football and a ping-pong table
For our part, we hiked the Vega de Liordes for a day. It was magical ! Thanks to the team for recommending it!

How was the contact with the host?
The hosts are very friendly. As soon as we arrived, they offered us several possible places to land. This allowed us a certain freedom that we do not find everywhere.
They often helped us. Especially in the choice of hiking, but also for more personal questions.
The team speaks several languages there is always someone at the reception to help.

Tips for new guests?
Pay attention to the size of your converted vehicle. The road to come is not easy and you can quickly get stuck. We weren't the only ones to have a motorhome, so the ease of getting there certainly depends on the motorization of the vehicle. Ours is a gasoline from 1988. Which also explains our difficulty.
There is no common space for cooking except for washing dishes. It is therefore necessary to provide a stove.

And if you want to stay for several days and you use the water from your motorhome, be careful when emptying it! It is not possible to do this on site.

Otherwise, bring good walking shoes to take full advantage of this breathtaking natural space!

Tips for new guests?
This is really in nature and the bigger village are quit far away. You can eat in the restaurant on the site which serves great food. But make sure to stay some days to really enjoy the place. Tip, take your time to enjoy!

Great spot with a superb setting. Good clean amenities and a restaurant and bar serving local food and cheap beer! The only down side for us was the road to to site which is very rough for a normal car. Otherwise we’d give it 5 stars.

How was the contact with the host?
Swift and efficient comms from Carlos and very helpful staff on site.

Tips for new guests?
Busy in high season, we arrived at the end of the Spanish holidays so plenty of space without booking.

I can imagine that this campsite is very beautiful in the low season. The surroundings are beautiful, you can make beautiful walks from the campsite, and the village nearby is a place of interest. But unfortunately we were in high season… you are super close to each other here and it is very busy. There was not even a meter between our tent and that of our neighbors. The entertainment in the evening with fire eaters is probably great fun for children, but was not necessary for us either.

Tips for new guests?
Look on the alltrails app for beautiful walks and I'm going to drink coffee in the village further and get cheese at the small cheese shop.
