Camping de Torenvalk, a lovely place in the Peel

About this campspace #s005446

Will

We have a small charming campsite in the Peel, in front of the door starts a beautiful walk called the "struinpad"
Our campsite is located in a landscaped garden with beautiful paths along small fields and bushes. Hidden in the green is our Vintage caravan "Miss in the green" a beautiful Constructam from 1964, a lovely spot in a corner of the campsite.
Our pipowagen "Poppy" is also located at the campsite, a nice and complete accommodation for two people..
It is wonderful to relax in the evening after an active day with a drink at the fire pit in a cozy campfire place.

I really enjoyed Camping de Torenvalk. The pipo wagon was very nice and fully equipped and it is always pleasant at the campsite. Lots for children, but the evenings are also cozy by the campfire. And a sheltered place for the motorcycle is also very nice!

Wonderful place where you are private and yet with others on the campsite. It lacks nothing here and everything is perfectly clean.

A warm welcome and an equally friendly goodbye.

Tips for new guests?
At most a van Deet along against mosquitoes and Reserve.

There were two of us and we felt comfortable from the first minute. For those who just want to enjoy the peace and quiet outside in the green, this is just the thing. The sanitary facilities are very clean and invite you to take a warm shower. Every morning the baker comes by, where you can get rolls, bread, cakes and much more. The area is big enough to always find a place to be undisturbed. 2 beautiful fireplaces invite you to chat with other campers.

How was the contact with the host?
The contact with Will and his wife was also great. We felt very comfortable with them.

Tips for new guests?
A short trip to the old town of Roermond is highly recommended. Incidentally, in Roermond there are also many beautiful bathing opportunities to cool off a bit in hot weather.

Will's place really is a gold mine. A friendly welcome, very spacious camping pitches and wonderfully in nature. It is quiet, but there are plenty of places where you can enjoy the campfire or play games with the other guests.

How was the contact with the host?
Will is a super friendly host. He welcomes you with open arms and gives you many tips about your stay. I have experienced the contact as very pleasant. You feel right at home.

Tips for new guests?
Don't postpone your stay any longer! Staying here for one or more nights immediately puts you in a 'zen' mode. And above all, ask for tips to enjoy locally. From walks to picking gardens, Will tells you it all.

Great experience. It has 2 camping areas close to each other, each one with one firepit (wood is offered for free to moderate use). One of them has playground, the other not. Besides that, you'll find 2 tents working as kitchens (one includes a fridge) and also the bathroom/shower area with above the average cleanliness. Just beside the camp area stay the animals (chickens, 2 goats, 1 duck and 2 poneys). There are children bikes/cars available. It's really child friendly.

How was the contact with the host?
Very quick confirmation on the booking (what's important because I did 1 day in advance). Will provided good information on where to set the tent (concerning sunlight) and also tips on what to do around.

Tips for new guests?
One of the kitchens has electric outlets but not appliances, so bring your own kettle to warm water.

We had a wonderful cozy stay in the Pipowagon. It was the perfect location for lots of beautiful biking and hiking in the area. (We did the 13k Struinpad Will recommended which was gorgeous!) The campsite, and especially the pipowagon had everything we needed — even some basic cooking supplies which was a nice surprise. Highly recommend this spot for a relaxing camping getaway!

How was the contact with the host?
Smooth and prompt responses

Tips for new guests?
Bring a towel for your shower and toiletries. If you are in provided accommodation pretty much everything else is provided

We camped with our tent at Wil and Gerrie in the Peel. What a lovely, beautiful place! We immediately relaxed and are definitely planning to come back again. The campsite is located in the middle of a beautiful, versatile nature reserve, which is super suitable for walking and cycling. But also nice places to have a coffee or for our two-year-old son to play. Everything has been thought of for him at the campsite too! Nice sandbox with lots of toys and all kinds of (old) bicycles/cars. The kids there complete it for us. We enjoyed!

How was the contact with the host?
Contact with Wil and Gerrie was very pleasant. Quick responses beforehand. On arrival there was a sign waiting for us, very personal. During their stay there was room for a small chat and they regularly walked around the campsite. Wil had a place in mind for us, but we were also allowed to indicate our preference.

Delicious! Was only one night unfortunately. But so much enjoyed the campsite. Very cozy set up. Spacious and clean sanitary facilities. Friendly guests. Wonderful environment for walking.

How was the contact with the host?
Very jovial. Got a tour and tips for a good place to pitch my tent.

Tips for new guests?
The stroll is very beautiful.
And 20 minutes by car you are at the Leudal where you can also walk beautifully.

A super nice mini-camping! We stayed in the pipowagen, with water supply and toilet nearby. A nice sunny spot with a covered terrace, if you like. The gypsy wagon is small and very cosy. Wonderful beds!
Very nice green area, on the campsite itself and nearby. Lots of fun around you because of birds.

How was the contact with the host?
Very nice people!

Tips for new guests?
Trail walk is beautiful! Varied, peaceful, beautiful.

Wonderful place in the Peel”, is a correct description of this mini campsite, after the warm welcome by owner Will, I was able to fully enjoy this weekend.
The mini campsite is well maintained and equipped with all the simple amenities. Neat showers and toilets, climbing and play equipment for families with young children. Several campfire places, and quite a lot of animals; a goose, chickens, bucks and even several ponies. And then I haven't even mentioned the many (predatory) birds that also know how to find this beautiful natural environment. In addition, the campsite has a semi-open 'living room' for general use, also ideal in bad weather.
I myself was allowed to experience the luxury of the vintage caravan 'het juffertje' for a night. This old refurbished caravan is in very well maintained condition. It does have some small rust spots here and there, but what do you want from a caravan from the 1960s. The caravan is located in a somewhat more green secluded corner of the campsite. The caravan is equipped with every luxury, think of a gas stove, refrigerator, plates, mugs, pans, cutlery - although I did miss a good cutting knife for the vegetables, luckily I had my pocket knife with me - and even a matching vintage radio, all are present .
The caravan site also has the luxury of having its own private hammock and toilet with sink (also in matching vintage style). An ideal place to isolate yourself from the rest of the mini campsite.
There can be a bit of cold wind on the outside terrace of the caravan, but you can of course dress for that, or decide to go inside, because there is also a very spacious seating area inside. If you prefer cosiness, you can go to one of the fire places where you can stare into the flames until the late hours (there is plenty of firewood available locally) or like me with Linda and Jeroen (the only other camping visitor this evening) have profound conversations and exchange ideas, of course all pleasant while enjoying a drink.
There is also plenty to do in terms of excursions, for example I thoroughly enjoyed myself during a 13 km walk on the signposted 'Struinpad', less than a 10-minute walk from the campsite. The route has several crossing routes so that you can also shorten the route. I can certainly recommend the coffee with cake, or (for a little later in the day) a delicious lunch at the picking and tea garden 'in the 7th heaven', I was also received super friendly there. In addition to walking, a canoe trip or cycling through this same beautiful area were of course also possible!
