  • 30000m2

More than just a place around the campfire.
On the Holschbacherhöhe you will experience nature, relaxation and hospitality.
Between orchards, chickens, horses and a good portion of landscape,
we would like to invite you to shift down a gear.
More than a campsite.
A home.

Our former farm is located on the northern border of the Westerwald in beautiful Wisserland. The days of farming and animal husbandry are long gone. But year after year, the farm seems to be slowly getting closer to its origins.

The courtyard is equipped with a bar as a lounge, a beautiful solar shower with a view and more.

It was a great weekend under the nut tree on the Holschbacherhöhe.
Barbecue, campfire, slow down.
And it even works in any weather.
Hans has set up a great old-school bar.
The bar with a wonderful wood fireplace provides cozy warmth.
We had a lot of fun with the dartboard.
The small kitchen with stove completes the whole thing.

How was the contact with the host?
Hans is a nice host who is already calm.
There is no rush or anything like that on this farm.
Exactly what we were looking for.

Tips for new guests?
In the cold season, Hans gets cold very quickly. Give him a warm place by the campfire 🔥 or by the fireplace in the bar.

Once a year we visit a winery and get inspiration from winemakers and chefs. This year, after two years of restrictions, many people must have planned it and we couldn't get accommodation for 4 couples anymore.

But since most of us are fans of camping, we followed the recommendation of some colleagues and booked a place at the wonderfully located Holschbacher Hof.
It rained a lot, but we still had a great evening. Delicious dishes and bread from the Dutchoven, wine, game from the grill, ... We endured it well and for a long time in the cozy bar.

How was the contact with the host?
The contact with colleague Hans is always enriching! And the Salmen family as hosts are simply an asset. Nice that Elke and Hans sat with us for so long, it was very comfortable, we had a lot of fun.

Tips for new guests?
What tips should you give other camping enthusiasts? It should go without saying that the facility, which has been prepared with great attention to detail, is valued and that everything is left clean.

Maybe this: enjoy the wonderfully refreshing shower early in the morning with a view over the landscape, when in the background Caruso has his hens line up for morning roll call with loud crowing.

We had a great eventful weekend in a beautiful place with a great view! Here you could let your soul dangle. With love and a wealth of ideas, this camp space is prepared and maintained for guests. Chickens provide fresh eggs, home-grown potatoes could be purchased and the freshly harvested garlic was a real treat.

How was the contact with the host?
Hans is a host with heart and passion. He puts a lot of love into his camp space, where you feel very welcome. Even the in-laws have and warmly welcomed.

Tips for new guests?
Just enjoy the view, if you eat eggs don't forget to order them in advance. You should also plan for the wood for the campfire. Unfortunately, it was too dry for us and the risk of fire too high, but the fireplace is super nice. The orchard offers plenty of space, but little shade. But here Hans has an awning ready. Under the walnut tree you can secretly stand directly underneath. The right place for shade and tree fans.

We had a great and relaxing stay at the fruit trees with our two dogs. The entire place has been built with great attention to detail. A solar shower, many small lamps, a beautiful fireplace and the mega view surrounded by horses and chickens round off the whole ambience wonderfully. All in all it was a successful short break.

How was the contact with the host?

The walnut tree, which is more than 70 years old, offers its guests a shady spot, especially on hot days. The paved area is particularly suitable for small and medium-sized campervans or mobile homes. The proximity to the Holschbar is also an advantage of this place.
