Introduce,
We are Melvin and Angelina van Wijk-Cornelisse.

We have been living in a very special place in Nigtevecht since September 1, 2020.
To be precise, Kanaaldijk Oost 2.
A stone's throw from the Vecht.
And the canal connecting with our backyard.

It is so special that our house has been a pounder's house.
From here the pound crossed the Amsterdam Rhine Canal for years, where an average of 100,000 ships sail per year.

We like to share our happiness and special place.
By means of 3a 4 camping / camper spots / parties and parties large and small.

The special thing and our goal is that everyone enjoys the great place and especially peace.

With additional bookings possible for chair massage / hairdresser visit / supping / food and drinks / sauna and jaccuzi.

We hope to receive you soon!
Warm regards Angelina and Melvin van Wijk - Cornelisse

Nice place on the water and to admire the shipping. In addition, all facilities are available (but basic) for a pleasant stay.

Unique place on the water. Boats that sail by, you can't stay closer to the night.
Takes some getting used to but wonderfully soothing.
Back to basic

How was the contact with the host?
A warm welcome, and lots of privacy

Tips for new guests?
If you don't like noises at night, bring earplugs. We slept wonderfully, because of the waves. We were alone, so if you really want to be on a campsite, you have to look for something else. It has been a unique experience for us.

We spent 1 night at this fantastic mini-camping.
The facilities are basic but function excellently and are neatly clean.

Even before we arrived at the campsite we were invited to join the fight, which we obviously did not decline.
When we returned, we relaxed in the hot tub and ended with a beer at the fire barrel.

For us it was like a day of festival but different.

Thank you Angelina!

Contrary to what is stated in the text, it is not a place of rest. The big ships make a lot of noise. Luckily I had earplugs with me and they were needed at night.
In addition, we did not find the shower and especially the toilet (dixi) very pleasant, so that afterwards we found the costs for the overnight stay (€30.00 + €7.00 service costs) too high.
The jacuzzi in the evening was lovely.

How was the contact with the host?
The contact with Angelina was fine. We received a warm welcome.

Tips for new guests?
Bring earplugs

August 2021 · Translated from dutch

Host angelina has responded

What a shame Anja that you experienced it that way.
The text states that the campsite is located on the Amsterdam Rhine Canal.
Sometimes it is quiet, sometimes it is busier in terms of boat traffic.

We will send a video in advance in which the sanitary facilities are clearly explained and it is all clean and tidy.
I'm sorry you experienced it that way.
You did not indicate this during your stay and at the end of the Conversation.
Booking fee is for campspace.
But thank you for your review.

Glad you continued to enjoy it.

Great small-scale campsite behind a house. Basic but good facilities. Excellent reception and in good consultation everything is possible. Lovely place on the water. Recommended.

How was the contact with the host?
Good, good instructions.

Tips for new guests?
There is some water traffic at night so if you sleep light it might be useful to bring earplugs

What a very nice experience in a special place.

A few camping spots have been made in a nice spot behind their house. We camped next to the canal and had the freedom to light a fire, BBQ while being entertained by all the boats that passed by.

Keep in mind that those boats do make noise of course and they also sail at night. Also be aware that the toilet is a Dixie. I think that's also the biggest drawback of the place. It would be nice if there was an alternative for this.

And we really enjoyed the jacuzzi during sunset. It is a place with a lot of freedom where you can really enjoy a holiday just a stone's throw from Amsterdam.

How was the contact with the host?
A friendly host who responds quickly and where much is possible.

Host angelina has responded

How nice, thank you for your response.
Unfortunately, installing sewers is too far and too low. Also, fixed sanitary facilities are not allowed by the municipality.
Hence the dixie toilet.
It is also in the description and the video that we send in advance.
We clean it daily.
And is also cleared several times. Therefore a nice alternative.
Glad you continued to enjoy it!
Warm greeting Angelina and Melvin van Wijk

Had a wonderful stay at the mini campsite on the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal. The area is beautiful along the Vecht, nice towns nearby.
Only the toilet block was a Dixie…

How was the contact with the host?
Fine

Host angelina has responded

It's great that you enjoyed Willemijn.
In advance we each send a video with the plumbing that no one is surprised.
The dixie is cleaned daily and due to the small amount of guests that is fine.
Everything is clean and tidy.

We welcome you again with love.

We have experienced our stay as very pleasant,
We found the passing ships very fascinating to watch.
We rented 2 x the jacuzzi later in the evening, absolutely great!

Lovely quiet welcoming campsite.

How was the contact with the host?
Very friendly and certainly hospitable people.
Nice and simple!

Tips for new guests?
If you go to this campground expect to be in someone's backyard.
Then everything you get here is just bonus.
Enjoy!!!

We were in a beautiful spot on the water, with a friendly and warm welcome. We got a lovely cup of mint tea! We were amazed with all the boats that passed by and we got on our bike to discover the area. We had a lovely meal outside and ended the evening in the jacuzzi! Everything is there, a toilet, shower and a piece to do your dishes. All in all a great stay!

How was the contact with the host?
Very good, friendly people and nice tips what to do in the area! Everything you need is there and more! We received a welcome drink on arrival and in the evening an explanation about the jacuzzi, but otherwise you have enough time for yourself!

Tips for new guests?
Enjoy!

Because of my small tent, I could sleep in a great place between two hedges, with a view of the water. I can't think of a nicer camping spot. The shower and ws were also very neat.

How was the contact with the host?
Angelina always kept me updated with the necessary information. This made it feel very safe for me as a woman alone.

Tips for new guests?
Be sure to book the place on the water! Best view for going to sleep and waking up!

Mega beautiful place right on the canal. For 2 campers there is a small patio with seating and a fireplace right by the water. Everything laid out very lovingly. For us the most beautiful place on our Hollan tour.
We'll be back for sure, and not just for one night.

How was the contact with the host?
Very nice welcome and instruction for our parking space. There were also tips on how to spend free time.

Tips for new guests?
Just enjoy and go for a walk along the canal

Tell us about your experience
Our experience was fine. The place was beautiful on the water. The village was cute and the owners were nice. For us it was a fine stay for one night, but it did not fully meet our expectations. In the description and in the photos it was not described that there was a dixie toilet and a plastic shed as a shower as sanitary. 'Peace' was also described, but there was an inland vessel next to our place that made continuous noise. We thought we were on the Vecht, but that turned out to be the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal, where inland vessels sailed continuously. We didn't find that so annoying in the end because you can't believe your eyes, but the peace they described was not quite right. Furthermore, we found it a bit scary that there was no gate to our camping spot and that it was open to get there from the public road. It would give us more security if there was a fence in front of our place.

How was the contact with the host?
The contact with the host was very good! They were both very sweet and hospitable and they were happy to help us. Really lovely people! Their dogs occasionally escaped and were suddenly in our tent, which we didn't like, but they were nice people and they had sweetly brought us tea on arrival and a sandwich in the evening. The contact was good!

Tips for new guests?
It is good for the next guests to know that the sanitary facilities are in a dixie, but despite that they are clean and the shower is nice. With a large tent you just fit on the spot. And take into account the many ships that pass by and the ships that lie ashore next to the tent.

Pitch is too narrow for caravan or motorhome. As a result, doors and hatches cannot open properly.

July 2021 · Translated from dutch

Host angelina has responded

Dear Sonja.
I'm sorry you experienced it that way.
Fortunately, there are several places.
And of course that could have been done in consultation.
You yourself were not really positive from the moment of arrival.
And can happen of course.
Are people after all ;))))

And putting your sweet dog's barrier far from the hedge makes it smaller than it can be.

Fortunately, we fully met you and you could still enjoy elsewhere.

And there is a same size camper now with great pleasure.
Kind regards Angelina and Melvin

Beautiful spot on the water on the edge of the idyllic village Nigtevecht, located on the Vecht. A perfect base to explore the area on the water, well worth it! The area is also a pleasure to explore on foot or by bike.
The owners of this lovely little place are very welcoming and friendly. Inviting with possibilities to rent a standup paddle board, the jacuzzi, suptour, a yoga class (on the water), or even a haircut. A beautiful garden where 2 camping spots have an unobstructed view over the Amsterdam Rhine Canal, where a freighter regularly sails over or is moored at the berth.
