Camp Grom is located next to the one and only vegetable museum of Belgium, called 't Grom.
Surrounded by 300 year old farm houses, open fields, fish ponds and forest this is the ultimate allround sleep over. And don't forget a local but quiet bistro just some 50 meters away.
A large grass field makes it extra suitable for small families. And sporty travellers will enjoy the bicycle highway from Antwerp to Mechelen which is a minute away. Hop on your bike and within 20 minutes you can have a coffee or Belgian beer in the shadow of Mechelen's cathedral.
When you're looking for a secluded spot in the green but don't want to loose touch with some culture and that city feel, this is the place!

The place was in a lovely setting.
The information I viewed told me there was a toilet so I was happy to plan and book, but this was only accessible during museum opening hours (times below in 'Tips for new guests'), which was a bit stressful, since I was working at a conference, and only once at the site when the museum was open.
My host had believed there was a portable toilet in the motorhome parking area, just adjacent, but was surprised to see it had gone ... I understood from him that this was only available during the summer.
There is a small area which is the camping space, it took me a few minutes to relate the photo to the building to the little sign that was hiding behind the hedge.
Perhaps a greeting message on the entrance to the museum would be useful?
How was the contact with the host?
It was a friendly chat when I went to say hello in the one 30 minute slot when the museum was open and I was there. The museum was interesting. The bistro's hours have shrunk due to the cold weather.

Thanks Jeremy, indeed we were very much surprised that the rental and mobile toilet had been taken away just a day before. This wasn't planned and we'll follow it up with the company. We understand this definitely isn't convenient.

The museum was thought but we could stand on a lawn next to the museum.
How was the contact with the host?
Fine, no physical contact but it was fine
Tips for new guests?
Beware there were two wasp nests in the ground. As a result, we could only use a small piece of the grass.

I was on the Campspace at ‘t Grom in Sint-Katelijne Waver with my granddaughter. We really liked this. It is a very beautiful cycling region.
