Our campspace is an organic market garden with a nature campsite in the West Frisian village of Venhuizen, near the IJsselmeerdijk between Hoorn and Enkhuizen. A nice place where you can do whatever you want. You can pitch your tent, caravan or motorhome on one of the spacious pitches on our overgrown mini campsite, in peace and in the middle of the greenery. No own camping equipment? No problem, there are various accommodations for rent, such as a retro caravan with an unobstructed view or a pipowagen between the cherry and plum trees.

Organic vegetables & fruit
We sell organic products, including vegetables, fruits, jams and eggs (depending on the harvest in season). You can also experience this campspace yourself by walking around and letting your senses do the work. Take a basket with you, smell, feel and taste and pick your own vegetables, fruit or herbs.
There are various play equipment for the children, such as a playhouse, trampoline, slides, sandpit and various go-karts and tractors. Prefer the water? We have two pedal boats, a boat and a canoe for rent. Many chickens and roosters live on the market garden, but also two horses, cats (to cuddle with), dogs and of course many species of birds and insects.

Biodynamic garden
Our campspace is and remains a garden in development, step by step we work on realizing our ideas. That takes time, money and energy. But the energy we put into it is positive energy and we get it back twice from the garden. Would you like to help in the garden, for an hour, day or regularly? Be welcome!

We strive for biodynamic horticulture based on strengthening natural growth with attention to soil fertility and diversity in the cultivation of crops. We see nature as a connected whole, in which the influence of, among other things, the climate, soil fertility, water pollution, biodiversity and air quality are partly decisive. That also means that it is not a 'tight and tidy' campsite. The garden is overgrown and weeds and weeds are deliberately grown for optimal soil fertility and biodiversity. The bush is a place for special plants and insects. Roland (the owner) is happy to tell you more about biodynamic horticulture.

Surroundings
Enjoy the peace and quiet, between the greenery, agriculture and the panoramic view. Our campsite is 800 m from the Markermeer, with two beaches. The depth of the water is about 1 meter up to a few hundred meters, which is ideal for children, and so the water temperature is just a few degrees more. The historic town of Enkhuizen is 6 km away with, among other things, the Zuiderzee Museum, Fairytale Wonderland, 'Kindervreugd' playground and the ferry to Stavoren and Urk.
VOC city Hoorn is 11 km and Medemblik 18 km away.
Various shops can be found in both Venhuizen and Bovenkarspel, both within 3 km of the TuinGoed.
In Venhuizen/Hem there is also a nice outdoor swimming pool: 't Hemmerven and bicycle rental.
Naturally, the area is perfect for walking and cycling along the dike and through the beautiful polder landscape. Camping het TuinGoed is located directly on the popular LF cycling and walking route; the Zuiderzee route.

A stay at our campspace is suitable for everyone.

What a lovely place. Butterflies and buzzing bees everywhere. Excellent sanitary facilities and everywhere corners and places to discover. There is also plenty to do for children and within 10 minutes by bike you are in Enkhuizen.

How was the contact with the host?
Good. We were unfortunately stuck in the mud due to terrible weather, but the owner was there to pull us out. We like it when you can choose your own spot and you can do that here!

Tips for new guests?
For electricity, bring an adapter for a regular socket.

Lovely campsite in a wild garden. Wake up to the sound of roosters crowing. You're really out.

How was the contact with the host?
Good

Tips for new guests?
If you want to wake up early, go next to the roosters. Do you want to sleep in? Do not do this.

Beautiful surroundings. Pipowagen fine and due to the rainy weather very happy with the party tent that was there. This made the cozy corner on a nice field.

How was the contact with the host?
Fine

Tips for new guests?
The beach is a little further away than 800m and the route is not signposted. I think about 3.5 km.

We had a nice week on the camping. Incredibly green and spacious, our (small) children loved the playground. The space was partially neglected, but a lot of work was done on it during our stay.

How was the contact with the host?
Very friendly and helpful.

Tips for new guests?
The sanitary facilities are rather tight for the number of guests, hot water only in defined, small time windows. Depending on the parking space, very long distances to the toilet.

A midweek with the children with our tent on the campsite.
We had a very nice time there. There is still a lot that needs to be done on the garden property and the campsite itself and maintenance is lagging behind. The owners realize this and are working hard to rectify this. This beautiful place will soon come into its own again.
The friendly atmosphere gave us a real holiday feeling. The children aged 8 and 13 also had a great time. Despite there being no WiFi. They made use of the pedal boat, whisper boat, went fishing and the youngest especially enjoyed being able to help feed the chickens and pick berries that he could use to make jam. In the evening we enjoyed the campfire with marshmallows. We will definitely come back. Nature and basic, nothing is necessary, everything is allowed.

How was the contact with the host?
Fine, friendly.

Tips for new guests?
If you like to relax outside every now and then during your holiday, then you give both yourself and the garden equipment a helping hand.

Thank you Roland for the nice overnight stay!

Scout Carlo About the scout program

Tell us about your experience
We had a nice stay at this campsite. Don't expect perfectly raked terrain with marked out areas. Opposite this is a campsite where nature has free rein again and where you can really enjoy the outdoors. By the way, young people work on the site who work under supervision in the vegetable garden, which is certainly a nice daytime activity for them.
The campsite is still under development and needs some attention here and there, but we are working hard on that. There are a number of permanent places on the site with creative accommodations such as a tiny house, vintage truck, yurt and retro caravans. There are chickens and horses scattered around the campsite. There is also a small 'shop' where you can buy organic vegetables/fruit of the season.

This camping space is close to the Ijsselmeer which made it possible for us to walk to the nearby shore and enjoy the sun. The campsite itself was "cozy" and green with lots of farm animals to be found. The wild animals, like frogs and ducks could be heard if you listened closely. A perfect place, if you are looking for something to relax in nature and calmness.

How was the contact with the host?
Communication with the host went well. We booked our stay spontaneously and called the host after booking. OUr call was answered and our booking assured quickly. The information on how to get there and what to do once we arrived was clear and we were welcomed kindly.

Tips for new guests?
My tips for future guests would be to be aware of the showering time slots to be able to access warm water and to simply enjoy your stay!
