It's a great place under the apple tree at Andreas. Full 270° view with the beautiful castle of Mützenberg in the middle. You can enjoy great cycling and walking in this region. There are many possibilities.
The hosts, Daggi, Lucas and Andreas are wonderfully nice people who want to help you in every way. There is a good toilet. For tapping larger amounts of water you have to ask their help. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Especially for cyclists, this gently hilly landscape with numerous car-free agricultural roads is a paradise.
How was the contact with the host?
The contact was very nice and we immediately received great tourist information. Ober Hörgen, where the campsite is located, is a nice place with a beautiful church, like all villages in the area. At the campsite we received a visit from a stork and the larks flew jubilantly in the air. We think the place is super and this campsite is definitely in our top 10 of the countless we have visited as elderly campers in our lives.
Tips for new guests?
Turn immediately left from the campsite to take a lovely evening walk. If you are on the railway line, on which a steam locomotive runs in the summer (unfortunately not this year due to repairs), you enter a beautiful Arcadian landscape with two small rivers with rapids and you walk directly in the direction of the Müntzenberg castle.
Lich (8 km) is also an interesting place. Everywhere in all villages you will find medieval half-timbered houses and beautiful churches. Cycling is a must in this region, even for non-e-bike travelers among us.
