In our orchard you can set up your tent right next to the water or perhaps rather in the middle after you have first made a round in our canoe or perhaps you would rather go to one of the many beaches along the river Lek or visit a tourist village such as Schoonhoven or Nieuwpoort in the immediate vicinity. Rain or not so nice outside, then it is great to sit under the canopy while you can taste a glass of juice from our own fruit. Electricity and a refrigerator are also available there and possibly also a kettle or coffee maker. Using our garden chairs or picnic table is of course no problem. From your camping spot you look out over the polder, you may have shade from the fruit trees and you can enjoy the tranquility or the bird sounds.

I am Paulien (47), married to Reinier and we have 5 children between 15 and 25 of which 3 still live at home. I really like camping, preferably back to basic. I also like socializing and welcoming people and letting them enjoy our garden, all the life in and around it and this wonderful environment.

Had a wonderful weekend in the orchard. Fantastic bike ride along the Lek. Schoonhoven is a must. You can cycle a round because there are several ferries.
Even received a box of eggs on departure.

Perfect stay in the Dutch countryside! We stayed in the beautiful large garden near a little stream. The hosts were perfect: very helpful and friendly, they gave us tips about the region, and offered advice where needed. Really happy to have stayed here 3 nights!!

Paulien and her husband were the best hosts you could wish.

Tips for new guests?
Just drive around and discover the countryside, a wide variety of birds, and cute little towns like Schoonhoven or Nieuwpoort.

The contact with the hosts was fine, very sympathetic and helpful people. A very nice place in the orchard. In Schoonhoven you can enjoy food, drinks or a nice city walk

Paulien and Reinier are hospitable hosts. Communication is good, they respond quickly to messages. There are several places in their orchard where you can pitch your tent. Under a tree, on the water and with a view of the polder. We didn't really have good weather when we were there, but luckily we were able to sit under their canopy. There is a picnic table and you have a fridge and electricity. Toilet and shower are fine, in their house. Very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend, nice people. You can walk and or cycle in the area. Near LAW's such as the Glad Floris path and Pelgrimspad.

This location in Groot-Ammers is highly recommended. Of course everything is more beautiful when the sun is shining, but you can also visit this location when the weather is bad. There is a very cozy covered terrace (with fridge) where you can sit when it rains. Fortunately we had good weather. The field with fruit trees is spacious and has plenty of places to pitch your tent, whether or not under a tree, by the water or near bushes. We had a nice place under an apple tree on the water. With beautiful views over the green meadows and with a mill in the distance. In the house itself it is possible to use the toilet and even take a shower. All well taken care of.
The hostess Paulien and host Reinier are very nice. They are always up for a friendly chat and guarantee a very warm welcome. We absolutely loved this super nice, quiet and green location.

Contact with the host before arrival was good (quick replies and thoughtful questions from the host's part, such as checking if we were aware that the bathroom would be shared and not private). Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed. We were invited to use their chairs and table on the patio, as well as a small fridge. Our view was great: we pitched our tent in the grass and had a great view over the "polder". We loved the sounds of the birds waking us up in the morning, especially as there weren't really any other noises. Also I really felt welcomed by our host, both through her kind words as through the conversations we had. They truly opened up their house and garden for us to enjoy. Would def recommend!
