About this campspace #s005029

Your host

Simeon

At the foot of the knokteberg (côté du Trieu) is our unique spot that symbolizes rest, enjoyment and becoming one with nature. The meadow is a combination of mowed paths, camping spots, high wild grass and flowers. Everyone has their own secluded place.
The ideal place to use as a starting point for breathtaking walks or bike rides through the Pays des Collines, the Flemish Ardennes and the Kluisbos.
Even those who simply seek peace find it with us.
Child friendly and surrounded by animals such as chickens, cows, horses and sheep. If you are lucky you will hear the calls of owls and foxes at night.
Currently the sanitary (with baby - changing table) and toilet of the host can be used, soon this will be in a separate sanitary.
Outside you will find tables and chairs, as well as a sink where you can also take drinking water. There is also a shared mini fridge.
Currently, due to the drought and high fire risk, there is a ban on open fire in Hainaut until the end of August, so unfortunately it is not possible for a while. Responsible cooking on a gas fire is of course possible.

I grew up in the region and like to share a walking, cycling or visiting tip.
Living in the countryside, between greenery and animals is where I find my peace.

What a wonderful camping spot! We enjoyed the peace and nature.
We had a spacious pitch with shade and a view of the horses and a beautiful sunset.

How was the contact with the host?
Simeon regularly asked if everything was okay without being obtrusive. He also offered a popsicle for our daughter for the extremely hot weather. Very nice!

What a nice quiet place in the green. We have enjoyed the peace here with our 2 young children, fed the chickens, played. Beautiful skies spotted around sunset.

Good. What a good worry. Even when my 78-year-old mother wanted to visit, everything was arranged, including a tent etc.

We had taken the shelter to enjoy and relax for a few days. It was our first time in that area. My kids and I definitely enjoyed this unique place at Simeon. Here you can really enjoy the cosiness, the view and the nature. The chickens that walk around are super nice and funny to see. The toilet areas are very tip top clean 👌. Simeon and his wife are super friendly and nothing is too much for them to ask. Magic the dog is everyone's friend there😊. One word "Wow". We will definitely be back

Beautiful place with nice view. From the campspace you can take a nice walk in the hermitage forest. Having a drink at the Bosbaar in between is definitely recommended.
The Sangria there is delicious!

How was the contact with the host?
Simeon is friendly and thoughtful.
We doubted whether our tent would be waterproof. Since thunderstorms and a lot of rain were forecast that night, we were allowed to use the shelter in case that happened. Luckily it wasn't necessary. Now we were allowed to use the shower and toilet in the house. Sanitary facilities for the guests were still under construction.

Very nice and quiet place to stay. Spacious meadow with long grasses and flowers where separate camping pitches and corridors have been mowed.
Together with my 6-year-old son, we stayed 1 night in our tent on our spot next to the chicken coop. With the ordered wood we could make fire and food on the provided fire pit in the center of the meadow. You can also play in the communal garden with swing and tree house.

How was the contact with the host?
Simeon has received us very well and regularly visits the meadow to hear if everything is in order.

Tips for new guests?
