We camped for five days at the old Kastel and we had a fantastic time. Bruno's place is not far from Grenoble, but once there, the city is completely forgotten. It is a hidden place where we fully enjoyed the view of the Belledone and the flower meadows. And at night after the sunset on the old ruin of watching the starry sky and sleeping with the sound of the mountain stream.
How was the contact with the host?
Very good. Bruno is attentive and very interesting.

We arrived in the dark, but Bruno was patient with us. We stayed for two short days, enjoying the quiet of the old castle ruins. The first day we just stayed in and went to the nearby town after hanging out with the cats. The second day, Bruno gave us a 15 minute masterclass on the mountain lakes nearby, and the possible hikes we could take. One of the neat things is that Chambrousse is nearby, and with it, the cablecars that take you up the mountain so you can enjoy the views of the Alps.
How was the contact with the host?
Bruno was warm and welcoming. He spent a lot of time giving us tips for walks in the area.
Tips for new guests?
Stay for longer than a day, so you can explore the mountains well.

The old castle in the Alpes is a great getaway from everything. It feels like your hidden away from the rest of the world. The silence and peace is overwhelming and the area has a natural beauty which can only be found in the Alpes.
Bruno can tell you great stories about the area and knows of all the great places to go hiking.

If you really like to be away from city noice and are longing for silence and beautiful nature sceneries
this is a real hidden secret
Tucked away in the mountains of the Belledonne, you will find this campspace surrounded by the old ruins of an 12th century castle
The host Bruno is super kind and helps you with every wish
Do not expect luxury. The kitchen and bathrooms are simple but sufficient
And by the way you need to be brave to take the little road up to the campspace
For us it was nature in a heavenly realm
Thank you Bruno for hosting us and the nice talks
