And when you come back, you can undoubtedly drink a nice cold beer from De Kleine Beer and look back on the day in one of the spots in the garden.

Fantastic place to camp! We had such a wonderful weekend that we would like to come back again. The garden is a paradise and the only stress you will get is where you will pitch your tent! So many beautiful places. Given the temperature (weekend of 30+ degrees) we chose a spot where the tent was in the shade almost all day. Waking up in the morning to clattering storks, singing blackbirds and other birds. And if you've managed at night, you'll hear the deer running past your tent.

The area is beautiful for walking, but we also recommend kayaking! And don't leave without a visit to the bird hide for non-existent birds!

How was the contact with the host?
The hospitality of Bernd and Christel is great! The friendliness and cosiness ensure that when you have been out, you have the feeling of coming home when you return. We have been away for the weekend, but it felt like a week's holiday. Respond quickly to messages and are easily accessible.

My stay with Bernd and Christel was very nice. As soon as you get to the end of the long driveway, you step into a little paradise. The garden is really huge and you can choose where you put your tent. I had choice stress: so many beautiful places! Showering and going to the toilet is done in the hosts' house, you don't have to go through the whole house because it's on the side. Handy, nice and clean and the door is always open. If you're lucky, Bernd will light his barbecue and you can take advantage of the delicious things he makes on it: pulled pork, vegetables, spare ribs. And everything from honest, local meat. A beer cannot be missed, of course, because the hosts are the owners of Kleine Beer brewery. I was allowed to taste the blond beer, the double beer and a very special kind with caramel sea salt. Really delicious! Near the site you will find a cool hide from which you can spot the non-existent bird species of the artist OC Hooymeijer ;). And a little further on is a jetty where you can launch your canoe or SUP for a beautiful water trip through the area. In short: a beautiful part of Friesland, in the middle of nature (you can hear dozens of different birds from your tent!) with good facilities and hospitable hosts. Recommended!
