Discover winter camping

Of course you can also go camping in the Winter! Imagine, together with your partner, cozy in a tent or caravan. With snow white nature around you, enjoy a cup of hot chocolate by the fire.

You're probably thinking “isn't it too cold?”. You don't hear many people doing it, but those who have tried are often very enthusiastic about it. It is an experience to remember. The privacy, the nature, the cosiness. Of course it is really cold in the evenings, but there are plenty of ways to solve that. Make a cozy fire, bring an electric blanket, or light the electric heater. Once that is resolved, you will have the time of your life.

Camping in autumn sometimes makes nature even more beautiful than it already is. The only downside is that the weather can change fast. It can rain at times, but who cares? Your camper, caravan, or sturdy tent will hold it back anyway. As soon as the weather is nice, step outside and enjoy the activities that mini-campsites can offer you. Take a walk through the woods with your pet, partner or on your own and experience the tranquility.

Of course the activities will also be different. Swimming is often not an option in winter, what you can do is go ice skating or get some fresh air and walk through snow white nature. Make a nice fire and have tasty S'mores.

Tips and tricks

If you do get cold during your winter adventure, we have listed a few more tips for you.

  • If you're looking to stay in a tent overnight, bring a polyester or nylon tent.
  • Bring supplies for cooking on a fire. All campspaces on this page offer the possibility to make a fire.
  • You can bring an electric blanket for a warm night's sleep. If you don't have that, sleeping naked with a bottle of warm water in your sleeping bag is also recommended. This way your sleeping bag absorbs a lot of heat.
  • Of course, bring warm clothing such as a hat, gloves, etc.
