COVID-19 and hosting a campspace

The coronavirus is affecting our community. Many guests are staying home. However some continue to camp in their own area, and are still looking for campspaces to visit. We strongly recommend everyone to check the latest travel advice and local guidelines per country. 

When you are hosting guests we ask you to keep the following in mind:

  • Flexible cancellation policy

For reservations with a check-in date till July 1st there is a flexible cancellation policy. Guests will receive a full refund including service fees when cancelling before check-in. And hosts can also cancel free of charge. Reservations with a check-in date after July 1st 2020, are not covered by our special terms. The regular cancellation policy applies. 

In form your guest of the extra measure you have put in place. 

As host you will most likely already have taken a number of special measures. To help support you we have published thorough cleaning guidelines. Updating your campspace description with the extra measures you have taken might help reassure your guests. And when receiving a booking request you have another opportunity to inform guests of your measures.

  • Avoid in person check in with your guests

In order to maintain sufficient physical distancing (we recommend no less than 2 meters) avoid in person check in activities, such as hand over of keys, guided tours of your facilities. Instead enable your guest to do these processes themselves, by providing  a detailed description of your campspace in your listing and during the booking process.
